Scale

Crab cakes are a delicious and easy way to enjoy crab meat. To make Crab Cake with Tartar Sauce, simply combine

  • 8 oz lump crab
  • 1 egg,
  • ½ cup finely diced red bell pepper
  • ½ cup of Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, and
  • ¼ cup of mayonnaise.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Nonstick cooking spray,
  • for the air-fryer basket and crab cakes

To make the Tartar Sauce, you will need:

TARTAR SAUCE INGREDIENTS

  • -½ cup mayonnaise
  • -1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • -1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • -1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • -salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

TARTAR SAUCE DIRECTIONS

Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl, and adjust the seasoning to taste. If you find the sauce to be too thick, you can add a little bit of water until it reaches the desired consistency. And that's it! You now have homemade tartar sauce that's perfect for your next fish fry or potato salad. Enjoy

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F. This will help your food cook evenly. Make sure to spray the basket with cooking spray before you add your food, so it doesn't stick.
  • in a large bowl, mix together the crab meat, egg, bread crumbs, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, bell pepper, chives, and mayonnaise.
  • Note: Try not to break up the lumps of crab too much. If you can, cover the crab mixture with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes and up to 1 day. This will allow the panko to absorb more liquid and help bind the crab cakes together better.
  • Form the mixture into small cakes then cook the crab cakes for about 10 minutes per side.
  • prepare the Tartar Sauce : see above

Serve the Crab Cakes with the Tartar Sauce and enjoy!
