Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

Mash 2 cups cooked beans until mostly smooth, leaving a bit of texture.

Finely dice 1 jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat).

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) if baking the dip.
Step 2: Layer the Dip

Spread half of the mashed beans evenly in a small casserole dish.

Top with ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese and a few diced jalapeño pieces.

Spread the remaining mashed beans on top to form a second layer.
