Description

As the leaves change and the air gets crisp, one fall tradition shines creamy pumpkin dip with cinnamon and Cream Cheese. Our family has loved this recipe since 2011. It's simple, with five ingredients, and always a hit at gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

    • vA 15-ounce can of pumpkin puree

    • A 5-ounce box of instant vanilla pudding mix (just the powder, not the prepared pudding)

    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

    • 1/2 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice

    • 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon

    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, to taste for sweetness)

Instructions

    1. Soften the Cream Cheese:
        • Begin by taking the cream cheese out of the refrigerator and letting it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes to soften. This will make it easier to blend with the other ingredients.

    1. Combine Cream Cheese and Pumpkin:
        • Combine the softened cream cheese and pumpkin puree in a large mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps of cream cheese.

    1. Add Pudding Mix and Spices:
        • Add the instant vanilla pudding mix powder to the pumpkin and cream cheese mixture. This will help thicken the dip. Sprinkle in the pumpkin pie spice and ground cinnamon. If you're using vanilla extract, add it now.

    1. Mix Until Smooth:
        • Continue mixing with the electric mixer at medium speed until all the ingredients are fully incorporated, and the mixture is smooth and thick.

    1. Adjust Sweetness:
        • Taste the dip; if you prefer it sweeter, gradually add up to 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition. Adjust according to your preference.

    1. Chill the Dip:
        • Transfer the pumpkin dip to a serving bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it for at least 1 hour. This allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.

    1. Serve:
        • After chilling, stir the dip once more to ensure it's thoroughly combined. Serve the pumpkin dip chilled with your choice of dippers, such as apple slices, graham crackers, ginger snaps, or pretzels.

    1. Optional Garnish:
        • For an extra touch, you can sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top of the dip before serving or add a dollop of whipped cream.

This Pumpkin Dip with Cinnamon and Cream Cheese is easy to prepare and offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures, perfect for autumn gatherings or as a sweet snack anytime. Enjoy!
