- 8 ounces dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), chopped

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan, lining the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped dark chocolate and butter together, stirring until smooth and well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Mix in Sugar and Eggs: Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. Then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, add the vanilla extract and salt.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cake is set but still slightly moist in the center. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully remove it and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder before serving if desired.
