    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

    • 3 large eggs

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 1/4 teaspoon salt

    • Optional: powdered sugar or cocoa powder for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan, lining the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Melt Chocolate and Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped dark chocolate and butter together, stirring until smooth and well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Mix in Sugar and Eggs: Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. Then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Finally, add the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cake is set but still slightly moist in the center. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully remove it and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder before serving if desired.
