Ingredients

🧀 Ingredients You’ll Need

Slider Buns

Use 12 slider buns, such as Hawaiian rolls. Soft rolls work best because they bake up tender inside and lightly golden on top.

Thinly Sliced Ham

You’ll need ½ pound thinly sliced cooked ham. Deli ham works well because it folds easily and gives each slider a soft, savory bite.

Swiss Cheese

Use 12 slices of Swiss cheese. Swiss melts beautifully and adds a mild, nutty flavor that pairs well with ham.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise adds creaminess and keeps the sliders from tasting dry.

Dijon Mustard

Dijon mustard adds tang and balances the richness of the butter and cheese.

Melted Butter

Melted butter gives the tops that glossy, golden, irresistible finish.

Minced Onion

Minced onion adds savory flavor to the glaze.

Poppy Seeds

Poppy seeds give the sliders a classic baked party sandwich look and a little texture.

Instructions

Tasty Recipe Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected if possible. Place the bottom half of the buns into a baking dish.
  3. Spread the mayonnaise evenly over the bottom buns.
  4. Layer half of the Swiss cheese slices over the mayonnaise.
  5. Add the thinly sliced ham over the cheese, overlapping the slices slightly so each slider gets a good amount of ham.
  6. Add the remaining Swiss cheese slices over the ham.
  7. Place the top half of the buns over the ham and cheese layers.
  8. In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, minced onion, and poppy seeds until combined.
  9. Brush the buttery Dijon poppy seed glaze generously over the tops of the slider buns, making sure to coat the edges and corners.
  10. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the tops are lightly browned and the cheese is melted.
  12. Let the sliders cool for a few minutes before slicing or pulling apart. Serve warm.
