Description

Ice Cream Soda with Homemade Chocolate Syrup is an icy treat that transports you back to childhood summer. Today, we're diving into classic indulgence with a refreshing twist—the Ice Cream Soda. But not just any ordinary soda—it's a tantalizing concoction made even more extraordinary with the addition of homemade chocolate syrup.

Ingredients

Chocolate Syrup Ingredients:

½ c. water
½ c. white sugar
1/3 c. unsweetened dark cocoa powder
1 t. real vanilla extract
1/8 t. salt

Soda Ingredients:

1 c. club soda
3 c. vanilla ice cream

For Garnish:

Whipped cream
Mini-chocolate chips
Maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. To prepare the chocolate syrup, combine the water, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt in a small skillet set over medium heat. Whisk vigorously until the sugar is dissolved and the cocoa powder is thoroughly incorporated into the mixture, approximately 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

  2. Add a large spoonful of chocolate syrup to each serving glass and top with enough club soda to fill each glass halfway. Divide the ice cream between the glasses and top with additional chocolate syrup.

  3. To serve, top each ice cream soda with a generous amount of whipped cream, mini-chocolate chips, and a maraschino cherry. Enjoy!
