Ingredients

Scale

    • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

    • 8 ounces pastrami, sliced

    • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened

    • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

    • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

    • Salt and pepper to taste

    • Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to fit your tart pan. Place the pastry in the tart pan and trim off any excess. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent it from puffing up.
  3. Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded Swiss cheese, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Layer the Filling: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pastry, then layer the sliced pastrami on top.
  5. Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden color during baking.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh chives or parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm.
