  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Make sure your rack is centered for even baking.

  2. Prepare your skillet: Lightly grease a 6–8 inch oven-safe dish or cast-iron skillet with butter or nonstick spray. Ensure every corner is coated so the chocolate won’t stick.

  3. Layer the chocolate: Pour 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly into the skillet. Optional: Add 1 tbsp butter for extra richness. Smooth the top with a spatula.

  4. Top with marshmallows: Spread 1 cup mini marshmallows evenly over the chocolate. For larger marshmallows, cut them in half for even browning.

  5. Bake: Place skillet in oven for 7–10 minutes, keeping a close eye. The marshmallows should puff up and turn golden brown on top. If they brown too quickly, tent lightly with foil.

  6. Cool slightly: Let dip rest for 2 minutes — the chocolate will set just enough to make dipping easy without burning fingers.
