Pan-Seared Scallops

  • Author: wellness sleuth

Description

Pan-seared scallops are a delicious and easy-to-make seafood dish. Scallops are a type of shellfish that is prized for their sweet, delicate flavor. When pan-seared, scallops develop a crisp, golden-brown crust that contrasts beautifully with their soft, creamy interior.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of sea scallops
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Thaw the scallops, if frozen
  • Brine the scallops ( see above )
heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the olive oil and butter to the skillet and let it melt.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the scallops to the pan.
  • Make sure that the scallops are not touching each other in the pan so that they can sear evenly.
  • Sear the scallops for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve immediately.
Enjoy!
