Ingredients
Scale
-
- 1 Fresh mint leaves About 10-12 leaves.
- 2 White granulated sugar: 2 teaspoons.
-
- 3 Lime juice: Juice of 1 lime.
- 4 White rum: 2 ounces.
- 5 Club soda: About 4 ounces.
- 6 Ice cubes: Crushed or cubed.
- 7 Lime wedges: For garnish.
- 8 Additional mint leaves: For garnish
Instructions
-
- Place the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar in the bottom of the glass.
- Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the mint leaves and sugar together. Press down and twist a few times to release the mint's essential oils and help dissolve the sugar.
- Squeeze the juice of one lime into the glass. This should yield approximately 1 ounce of lime juice. You can adjust the amount to your taste preferences.
-
- Add the white rum to the glass. Traditionally, 2 ounces of rum are used, but you can adjust this to your desired strength.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes. You can use crushed ice or cubed ice, depending on your preference.
- If you have a cocktail shaker, you can optionally transfer the contents of the glass into the shaker and shake gently to mix everything together. This step helps ensure even distribution of flavors.
-
- Pour the mixture back into the glass, if using a shaker, and top it off with club soda, filling the glass almost to the top.
- Give the drink a gentle stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint leaves and a lime wedge.
- Serve and enjoy your refreshing Cuban Mojito!
