Step-by-Step Assembly Guide

Making delicious mini chicken puff pastry appetizers is all about precision and care. Learning how to put them together is simpler than you might think. Follow this guide to turn your ingredients into tasty bites that will wow your guests.

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

    1. Boil the chicken breasts in water for about 20 minutes, or until fully cooked.

    1. Once cooked, chop the chicken into small cubes or shred it using a fork.

    1. Place the chicken in the fridge to chill while you prepare the pastry.

Step 2: Cut the Puff Pastry
4. Roll out the puff pastry on a clean surface.
5. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the pastry into rectangles measuring approximately 1.5×2.4 inches (4×6 centimeters). Avoid making them smaller than this.
6. Transfer the rectangles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 3: Add Egg Wash
7. In a small bowl, beat one egg with 1 tablespoon of water to create an egg wash.
8. Lightly brush the top of each pastry rectangle with the egg wash.

Step 4: Bake the Pastry
9. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
10. Bake the pastry rectangles for about 15 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
11. Check them at the 10-minute mark to ensure they don’t burn.

Step 5: Prepare the Filling
12. While the pastry bakes, prepare the filling. In a medium mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, minced garlic, finely chopped parsley, and the chilled chicken pieces.
13. Taste the mixture and add salt if needed. Set aside.

Step 6: Assemble the Pastry Puffs
14. Once the pastry rectangles have cooled, carefully cut each one in half horizontally.
15. Place the chia seed-topped halves over the filling to create little sandwiches.
