Ingredients

    • Ground Chicken: 1 pound (lean chicken for a healthier option)

    • Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce: 2 peppers, finely chopped (adjust based on spice preference)

    • Garlic Powder: 1 teaspoon

    • Onion Powder: 1 teaspoon

    • Cumin: 1 teaspoon

    • Smoked Paprika: 1 teaspoon

    • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or to taste)

    • Black Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon

    • Whole Wheat Burger Buns: 4 buns

    • Lettuce Leaves: 4 leaves

    • Tomato Slices: Few slices for each burger

    • Avocado: 1, sliced

    • Greek Yogurt Chipotle Sauce:
        • Greek Yogurt: 1/2 cup

        • Lime Juice: 1 tablespoon

        • Chipotle Sauce (from the can): 1 tablespoon (or to taste)

    • Monterey Jack or Cheddar Cheese (optional): 4 slices

Instructions

    1. Prepare the Burger Mixture:
        • Combine 1 pound of ground chicken in a large mixing bowl with 2 finely chopped chipotle peppers.

        • Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, and 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika.

        • Season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.

        • Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

    1. Form the Patties:
        • Divide the chicken mixture into four equal portions.

        • Shape each portion into a round patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Make a small indentation with your thumb in the center of each patty to prevent it from bulging in the middle as it cooks.

    1. Cook the Patties:
        • Preheat a grill or non-stick skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, lightly oil it or spray with cooking spray.

        • Place the patties on the grill or in the skillet.

        • Cook for approximately 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are fully cooked through. If using cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking, cover, and allow to melt.

    1. Prepare the Greek Yogurt Chipotle Sauce:
        • In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon of lime juice.

        • Add 1 tablespoon of chipotle sauce from the can (or adjust to your taste).

        • Stir until well blended. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more chipotle sauce if extra heat is desired.

    1. Assemble the Burgers:
        • Toast the whole wheat burger buns lightly on the grill or a toaster for extra flavor and texture.

        • Place a leaf of lettuce and a tomato slice on the bottom half of each bun.

        • Add the cooked chicken patty on top of the tomato and lettuce.

        • Top with avocado slices and a generous dollop of the Greek yogurt chipotle sauce.

        • Place the top half of the bun over everything.

    1. Serve:
        • Serve immediately with any side of your choice, such as sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
