Who says comfort food has to be heavy? These Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps deliver everything you crave from a classic Philly sandwich
🧀 Melty Cheese and Sizzling Steak – The Heart of the Wrap
It’s all about that perfect pairing: thin-sliced roast beef (or shaved ribeye) and gooey provolone. Sizzle the beef in a hot skillet just until it’s warmed through, then lay those cheese slices right on top so they melt into every crevice. The result? A cheesesteak core that's tender, rich, and drool-worthy.

🌶 Caramelized Onions and Peppers – Sweet & Savory Balance
Don’t skip the veggies—they make the dish! Thinly sliced onions and bell peppers get sautéed in olive oil until golden and soft. The sweetness they bring balances the savory meat and cheese, giving each bite a classic Philly feel, just without the hoagie roll.

🥬 Crisp Lettuce Wraps – The Low-Carb Canvas
Swap bread for a refreshing crunch. Boston or Bibb lettuce creates the perfect natural cup, while romaine offers a sturdier wrap for a handheld version. Want to get fancy? Overlap two leaves and roll them into a parchment-wrapped cheesesteak burrito!

🥣 Zesty Sauce – A Simple 2-Ingredient Hack
Don’t underestimate the sauce. A quick mix of mayo and sugar-free ketchup adds a creamy, tangy kick. Want heat? Toss in a dash of Tabasco. Want depth? Stir in a little Worcestershire. This sauce cuts through the richness and pulls everything together with one swipe.

🍽 Perfect for Quick Dinners, Meal Prep, or Game Day

🌀 Variations: Customize Your Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps
One of the best things about these Easy Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps is how easily you can switch them up to match your cravings or dietary needs. Here are a few delicious ways to make them your own:
🔄 Swap the Protein
- Try sliced chicken breast for a lighter take on the Philly classic.
- Use turkey sausage or ground turkey for a lean, flavorful twist.
- Go plant-based with grilled portobello mushrooms or tofu strips.
🌶 Change Up the Veggies
- Prefer more heat? Add sliced jalapeños or poblano peppers instead of bell peppers.
- Try sautéed mushrooms like shiitake or cremini for a richer, umami flavor.
- Add spinach or shredded carrots for bonus color and crunch.
🧂 Experiment with Sauces & Toppings
- Classic mayo and ketchup are great, but you can also try:
- Chipotle aioli for smoky heat
- Sugar-free BBQ sauce for a tangy finish
- Pickles, tomatoes, or avocado slices for extra texture and flavor
🧊 Storage: Make-Ahead Tips for Busy Days
Need a quick meal prep option? These healthy 30-minute cheesesteak wraps are perfect for storing:
- Prep the filling ahead of time and keep it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
- When ready to eat, reheat the filling in a skillet or microwave, then assemble the lettuce wraps fresh.
- Avoid pre-wrapping with lettuce if storing—this keeps them crisp and prevents sogginess.
✅ Top Tips for the Perfect Cheesesteak Lettuce Wraps
To get that signature crunch and flavor in every bite, keep these expert tips in mind:
- Choose high-quality steak—opt for shaved ribeye or deli-sliced roast beef from a trusted butcher or grocer.
- Don’t skimp on toppings—tomatoes, onions, pickles, and even a drizzle of hot sauce add great contrast and crunch.
- Avoid soggy wraps—don’t overfill, and give them a minute to rest after assembling to allow the lettuce to firm up.
