Selecting the Best Peaches for Baking
For the best flavor and ease of use, go for freestone peaches. They're sweeter and easier to handle. For more on my top freestone peach picks, swing by our peach cobbler guide!

Will Peaches Ripen Post-Picking?
Absolutely! Similar to apples and avocados, peaches can ripen after being picked. Just leave them on the counter. For a speedier ripening process, try placing them in a paper bag.
To Peel or Not to Peel?
Peeling is up to you, but my family prefers peeled peaches in desserts. With just three peaches for this recipe, using a good paring knife will make quick work of it.
Using Frozen or Canned Peaches
In Utah, peach season flies by, so frozen or canned peaches are great alternatives. If using frozen, thaw and drain them well before proceeding with the recipe. When using canned, opt for peaches in their own juice and ensure to drain them thoroughly.
Cream Cheese Substitutes
For this recipe, full-fat cream cheese is irreplaceable. Any other substitute won’t do justice to the creamy filling.
Shelf Life of Peach Crumble Bars
Stored properly, these bars will last 3-4 days at room temperature. Keep them wrapped tightly or in an airtight container for the best freshness.
The Perfect Peach Treat
What do you seek in an impeccable peach dessert? These peaches and cream crumble bars have all angles covered – a bit crunchy, a tad creamy, a touch tart, just the right sweetness, and absolutely irresistible.
So there it is, an ultimate treat that’s sure to make your taste buds dance with joy. Enjoy every bite!
