How to make Kahlua Kissed Chocolate Indulgence Tart
- Preheat the oven to 350° F.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Add melted butter, olive oil, and milk. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined and a crumbly dough forms.
- Press the dough into your tart shell, starting from the sides and then moving to the center. The sides should be a bit thicker than the bottom.
- Prick the bottom of the tart shell with a fork and place in the oven to bake until golden-brown and crisp, 20-25 minutes.
- Remove it from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.
- In the meantime, add the chocolate and heavy cream to a medium saucepan and place over low heat. Allow the chocolate to melt while stirring frequently to prevent burning. Once the chocolate is melted, remove from heat and stir in the Kahlua and vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate Kahlua filling over the baked tart shell and place the tart in the refrigerator to set for a couple of hours.

Top tips to know when making Kahlua Kissed Chocolate Indulgence Tart
- Quality Matters:
- Start with good-quality chocolate and Kahlua. The better your ingredients, the richer the flavor. Treat your taste buds!
- Room Temperature Dance:
- Make sure your butter and eggs are at room temperature. It helps in achieving that perfect, smooth consistency in both the crust and the ganache.
- Chill, Don't Rush:
- Pop the tart crust in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before baking. This helps it hold its shape and prevents shrinking in the oven.
- Mind the Blind Bake:
- Blind bake the crust before adding the filling. Line it with parchment paper and weigh it down with some beans or pie weights. No one likes a soggy bottom!
- Ganache Glee:
- When making the ganache, pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute before stirring. This gentle approach ensures a silky smooth texture.
- Flavor Infusion:
- Don’t be afraid to experiment with flavors. Whether it's a hint of orange zest, a splash of espresso, or a sprinkle of sea salt, small additions can make a big impact.
- Precision with Kahlua:
- Measure your Kahlua accurately. Too much can overwhelm the other flavors, and too little might not give you that delightful kick you're aiming for.
- Patience is a Tart-virtue:
- Let the tart cool completely before slicing. I know it's tempting to dive in, but a little patience ensures clean, beautiful slices.
- Garnish Gracefully:
- Get creative with your toppings. Fresh berries, a dusting of cocoa powder, or even a swirl of whipped cream can take your tart to the next level.
- Storage Strategy:
- If there's any left (which might be a big 'if'), store the tart in the fridge. Just remember to take it out a bit before serving to let it soften slightly for that perfect, indulgent bite.
